Why don't you send me an email at ddu101@aol.com, and we can discuss this stuff much more rapidly, and at length.MasterFabhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18215231064545492882noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4081291812323751025.post-15945008394918050492013-12-18T16:47:22.442-08:002013-12-18T16:47:22.442-08:00I am not sure if you received my last comment so e...I am not sure if you received my last comment so excuse me if this is a duplicate. Did you consider installing an access port behind the mirror in the forecabin? I will try the above approach first and leave that as an option. Also, any suggestions on the foot switches? I tried removing them from the top but there is not enough cable to pull it out far enough.JCEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09822201079009752191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4081291812323751025.post-91868893589811585132013-12-13T08:22:32.624-08:002013-12-13T08:22:32.624-08:00I won't lie to you - it's not easy. But, i...I won't lie to you - it's not easy. But, it can be done. The windlass separates into 2 halves. The upper half has studs that extend through the deck. Once it is in position, the lower half is raised into place, and then the nuts are put on, along with lock washers. To do this, I emptied the anchor locker, then cut a piece of 2x6 to just the right length. Reaching in through the anchor locker, I raised the lower section into position (be sure to eat your Wheaties that morning), and propped it into place with the 2x6. Then, I carefully stuck each lock washer to a nut with some grease, and threaded them on one by one. It's a tedious job, but only took a little over an hour, all said and done. Once the nuts are on, just work your way around evenly with a wrench until they are all tightened. Oh, one more thing - make sure all the electrical connections to the lower section are complete before you raise it into position. Trying to connect the cables after the windlass is installed is needless torture.MasterFabhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18215231064545492882noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4081291812323751025.post-63810484398394875532013-12-04T16:45:13.532-08:002013-12-04T16:45:13.532-08:00I need to rebed my windlass. For example, the stanchions have backing plates and nuts that must be removed, and some of them can be time consuming to get to. I never had to remove the headliner, but some other interior items have to be pulled to gain access. If you have a specific item in mind, let me know, and I'll respond back with the process.MasterFabhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18215231064545492882noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4081291812323751025.post-68250316920905195332013-08-29T06:46:45.443-07:002013-08-29T06:46:45.443-07:00Can you get access to all the hardware without rem...Can you get access to all the hardware without removing the headlinerAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09149994503684868105noreply@blogger.com
